Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is on an official visit to Singapore from 22 to 24 February to deepen economic cooperation and institutional partnerships. The visit aligns with the India-Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) Roadmap, which focuses on priority areas such as economic growth, digitalisation, skills development, sustainability, connectivity and advanced manufacturing.

During the visit, the Chief Minister is scheduled to meet Singapore’s top leadership, including Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Manpower Tan See Leng, and President Tharman Shanmugaratnam. The meetings are expected to explore ways to strengthen collaboration at both national and state levels.

Investor Meetings And Business Outreach

The programme includes interactions with major sovereign and institutional investors such as Temasek and GIC. Adityanath will also meet business leaders from sectors including data infrastructure, logistics, aviation services, financial services and advanced manufacturing.

The Singapore leg will conclude with an Invest UP Mega Roadshow. The event will bring together data centre operators, renewable energy firms, logistics developers, private equity funds and sovereign wealth institutions. It will showcase investment opportunities in digital infrastructure, aviation-linked industrial development, renewable energy and manufacturing.

Focus On Digital Infrastructure

Singapore-based companies are currently expanding in India, particularly in AI-ready digital campuses. Uttar Pradesh is offering land parcels near the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar for hyperscale and AI-enabled data centres. The discussions aim to convert national-level frameworks into specific projects in the state.

Aviation And Logistics Collaboration

With the development of the Noida International Airport, Uttar Pradesh is seeking partnerships within Singapore’s aviation ecosystem. The Chief Minister’s schedule includes visits to aviation and logistics facilities in Singapore to study best practices and explore collaboration pathways.

Skill Development And Sustainability

The visit also highlights cooperation in skill development. Engagements with Singapore’s technical and vocational education institutions, including ITE Singapore, are planned. Skill training remains a key pillar of bilateral cooperation.

Singapore’s expertise in sustainability and green supply chains aligns with Uttar Pradesh’s push to develop renewable energy zones and integrated industrial corridors.

Economic Growth And Future Roadmap

Uttar Pradesh is India’s most populous state and one of its fastest-growing large economies. Its Gross State Domestic Product reached Rs 30.25 lakh crore in 2024-25 and is projected to rise to around Rs 36 lakh crore in 2025-26. Singapore continues to be India’s largest source of foreign direct investment, contributing USD 14.94 billion in FY 2024-25.

Officials said discussions during the visit are expected to focus on creating structured follow-up mechanisms to ensure that high-level meetings translate into concrete investment projects.
