LUCKNOW: A Class 2 student was allegedly subjected to 105 cane blows by his teacher for failing to complete homework at a private school in Gonda district. The incident led to the registration of an FIR against the accused teacher and his immediate removal from service on Friday. The incident took place on Thursday. The victim is a 10-year-old student studying in Class 2. According to the police complaint, the child attended all classes as usual. After lunch, around 1 pm, Social Science teacher Prakhar Singh (38) entered the classroom and began checking homework. When the teacher found the child's homework incomplete, he allegedly lost his temper and began beating the student. The teacher allegedly counted and struck the child's legs 105 times with a cane, leaving the rest of the class terrified.
As the child cried in pain, the teacher allegedly gave him a biscuit and warned him not to inform anyone at home, threatening further punishment if he did. After school hours, the child returned home crying and narrated the incident to his family. He was taken for medical treatment, where multiple cane marks were found across his body. When the child's father went to the school later in the afternoon to complain, he was allegedly scolded and driven away by the school principal instead of being heard. Later in the evening, the family lodged a complaint.
