UPPSC declares PCS 2024 final result, 6 women in top 10

UPPSC has announced the final result for the PCS 2024 examination

PRAYAGRAJ: The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has declared the final result of the Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services Examination (PCS) 2024, on late Sunday night bringing relief to thousands of candidates who waited for more than two years for the process to conclude.

Neha Panchal has topped one of the most prestigious examinations of the state. Ananya Trivedi secured the second position, while Abhay Pratap Singh stood third in the merit list. Notably, six female candidates feature in the top ten ranks, and four of them are from Uttar Pradesh, reflecting a strong performance by female candidates this year. The commission advertised 947 posts across 24 different categories. However, selections have been made for 932 posts while 15 posts remained vacant due to the non-availability of suitable candidates.

According to commission secretary Ashok Kumar, details of marks obtained by candidates along with category-wise and post-wise cut-off marks will soon be uploaded today on the official website of the Commission. Among the selected candidates, 272 belong to the OBC category, 186 to SC and 22 to ST. The recommendations of the selected candidates will be sent to the state govt shortly for further appointment procedures.

Apart from the first three position holders, Anamika Mishra stood fourth, Neha Singh fifth and Deepti Verma sixth. Pooja Tiwari secured the seventh position, while Anurag Pandey ranked eighth. Shubham Singh and Ayush Pandey completed the top ten list at ninth and tenth positions respectively. A comparison with the previous cycle shows that the commission has declared the PCS final result after a gap of two years.

The PCS 2023 final result was announced on Jan 23, 2024. Due to repeated delays in conducting the PCS 2024 examination, the entire schedule went off track, and it took over two years to announce the final result. The final result has come nearly one and a half years after the preliminary examination. The commission had to postpone the preliminary test several times due to protests by aspirants. Eventually, the preliminary examination was conducted on Dec 22, 2024.

Its result was declared on Feb 28, 2025. The main examination was held from June 29 to July 2, 2025. The result of the mains was declared seven months later on Feb 4. Interviews were conducted between Feb 16 and March 20. Following orders of the High Court, interviews of two candidates were conducted separately on March 23 before the final result was prepared and declared.
