US scholar shares insights on public finance and governance at LN Mishra institute

Patna: Director of the International Center for Public Policy at Georgia State University, USA, Charles Hankla, on Friday underscored the importance of sound financial management in ensuring good governance.Speaking on “Public Finance and Economics” at the L N Mishra Institute of Economic Development and Social Change (LNMI), he advocated evidence-based policymaking to promote transparency in administration and sustain economic growth.Hankla said sound public finance, transparent governance and effective policymaking are the cornerstones of sustainable and inclusive development. Sharing insights into the global economic landscape and emerging challenges in public finance, he also suggested measures to strengthen economic growth in India, particularly in Bihar.Students of business administration and computer applications interacted with Hankla and sought his views on higher education and research opportunities for Indian students at Georgia State University.Welcoming the guest, state planning and development department additional chief secretary and LNMI director N Vijayalakshmi highlighted the institute’s growing reputation for academic excellence, innovation and strong placement outcomes.
