Mahesh Babu has wrapped up the Georgia schedule for SS Rajamouli's epic 'Varanasi' and returned to Hyderabad. The adventure thriller, also starring Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran, is set for an April 7, 2027 release. Babu recently celebrated India's T20 World Cup win and shared his thrilling experience filming in African jungles.

Tollywood giants Mahesh Babu and director SS Rajamouli are working together on the magnum opus ‘Varanasi’. The adventure thriller, which also features Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran in pivotal roles, is currently in production.

Recently, the ‘Guntur Kaaram’ actor returned to his hometown after being spotted at the airport.

Georgia schedule completed

According to a post shared by Telugu Smash on X (formerly Twitter), Mahesh Babu has completed the film's Georgia schedule and returned to Hyderabad. The report also suggests that he will be in the city for a few days and will later fly to Antarctica for his next schedule.

Speaking about his outfit, the ‘Pokiri’ actor was seen ina cool and casual look featuring a collared brown bomber jacket over a black shirt and matching track pants.The actor accessorized his airport look with sunglasses and a white baseball hat. The actor, due to his long hair and bearded look for ‘Varanasi’ has often been seen wearing a cap.

Celebrates team India’s big win

Recently, the actor took to his social media handle to celebrate the Indian cricket team’s victory as they defended their T20 World Cup title in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

Sharing a picture of the team, he wrote, “What was that!!! A magnificent testimony to Team India’s dominance unleashing full beast mode to bring it home for 1.4 billion hearts…Exemplary performances from Samson, Abhishek, Ishan, Dube, Bumrah, Axar and everyone who made this unforgettable….

Filming experience in African jungles

Speaking of the film, ‘Varanasi’ is time travelling adventurer and is set across multiple locations across the world. The makers have also shot in the African jungles. Sharing his experience of working amid the wilderness, he said, “It's something I will never forget. The first day of shooting in Africa right in the middle of these animals, we had to get down from this vehicles and had to walk. It was a bit intimidating with all those wild animals but after 5 or 10 minutes you wouldn’t see the cameras, you wouldn’t see anybody.

It's just us in the middle of the wildlands,” while speaking with Discussing Film.‘Varanasi’ is set to release on April 7, 2027.
