Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Nitin Nabin has laid out an expansive growth strategy for the party, underlining that its political push will extend across regions like Assam, Puducherry, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Punjab, with alliances calibrated to local realities. In an exclusive interview with Network18 Group Editor-in-Chief Rahul Joshi, Nabin said the party’s “expansion blueprint spans Assam, Puducherry, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Punjab, with varied alliance strategies.

Giving the example of West Bengal, Nabin said the BJP’s rise has been “from marginal presence to major contender," while describing governance in the state as “a battleground narrative around law and order, infiltration, and administrative control."

A key element of the BJP’s strategy, according to Nabin, is its focus on women voters, whom he described as a decisive constituency. “Women voters emerge as a decisive constituency, especially in states like West Bengal," Nabin said.

Speaking on the delimitation bill that could not pass the Parliament test, Nabin said “the North-South divide emerges as a political narrative around delimitation and representation," and added that delimitation “remains rooted in a legal framework created during previous Opposition regimes."

On the Opposition’s stance, Nabin said, “in opposing Narendra Modi, the Opposition risks positioning itself against women and the idea of ‘aadhi aabadi.’"

On elections, he said “heavy deployment of central forces is framed within the imperative of ensuring free and fair elections," while noting that “electoral rolls and citizenship verification sharpen into a core political issue."
