NEW DELHI (India CSR): Vedanta Group, India’s leading metals, oil & gas, critical minerals, power, and technology conglomerate, today announced the launch of V-Volunteer, a social impact volunteering platform designed to enable students, citizens, institutions, and communities at large to participate in Vedanta’s uniquely positioned community development initiatives across India in nearly 20 states, with employees, business partners, and families also joining this larger movement.
The launch comes amid growing interest in volunteering and rising demand from individuals seeking meaningful opportunities to contribute to social change. Vedanta’s large-scale grassroots initiatives across education, nutrition, healthcare, livelihoods, environment sustainability, sports, and rural transformation – with a focus on women & child development, have consistently witnessed strong interest from people wanting to volunteer and engage directly with communities spread across India. V-Volunteer has been created to simplify and scale this engagement through a single, structured digital platform that enables volunteers to participate in meaningful grassroots initiatives across rural India, including opportunities located close to their hometowns and communities.
The platform offers a one-stop interface to explore, register, and participate in a wide range of volunteering opportunitiesacross the company’s operational geographies and Nand Ghars or modernized anganwadis nationwide.
Volunteers can participate in activities such as teaching children, mentoring students, conducting health and nutrition awareness sessions, supporting cleanliness and plantation drives, animal welfare initiatives, digital literacy programmes, sports coaching, community engagement activities, and skill-development workshops, among others.
Currently, over 20 volunteering opportunities are live across Vedanta locations and Nand Ghars, with additional initiatives being onboarded on an ongoing basis.
Designed for flexibility and accessibility, V-Volunteer offers multiple engagement formats ranging from virtual volunteering and one-hour activities to immersive field engagements spanning several days. The platform also enables seamless digital tracking of volunteering hours, participation management, impact documentation, and digital certification, creating a structured and transparent volunteering ecosystem.
Importantly, V-Volunteer expands access to volunteering opportunities in remote and underserved regions where Vedanta operates, enabling greater community participation in grassroots transformation efforts across the country.
Commenting on the initiative, Priya Agarwal Hebbar, Non-Executive Director, Vedanta Ltd. and Chairperson, Hindustan Zinc Ltd. said, “At Vedanta, giving back is in our DNA. Our purpose extends far beyond business and reflects in the communities we impact and uplift. With the launch of V-Volunteer, we are bringing together our entire ecosystem — employees, families, partners, and external stakeholders alike — under a shared mission of creating meaningful impact.”
Vedanta has a long-standing commitment to inclusive growth and community development, positively impacting millions of lives across its operational geographies. In FY26, Vedanta invested Rs 422 crore in social impact initiatives, positively impacting almost 70 lakh lives globally.
The launch of V-Volunteer marks a significant step towards institutionalising volunteering and fostering a stronger culture of purpose-driven engagement within and beyond the organisation. The platform aims to significantly increase participation in social initiatives through structured, measurable, and high-impact volunteering efforts across Vedanta’s locations nationwide.
