BHOPAL: A seemingly trivial dispute over tying up a buffalo’s calf turned fatal in Madhya Pradesh’s Singrauli district when a 17-year-old boy allegedly beat his father to death with a stick on Tuesday night. The incident took place in Tendua village under Sarai police station limits, where the minor allegedly attacked his 45-year-old father Raghunath Kol after being scolded for not tying up the calf that was roaming around.Police said the victim suffered severe head injuries in the assault and died on the spot. After the incident, the minor fled the house but was later traced and taken into custody by the police.“It was a very petty dispute. The deceased father scolded the minor for not tying the calf of a buffalo, which was roaming around, which led to a situation where the accused minor attacked him, leading to his death. We rounded up the minor, who will be produced before the juvenile justice board,” Sarai police station incharge Jitendra Singh Bhadoria told TOI.Police said they reached the spot after receiving information about the incident and sent the body for postmortem examination.
