Union Home Minister Amit Shah conducted a massive roadshow in Guwahati, Assam, expressing confidence that the BJP will secure over 90 seats and form the government for a third consecutive term in the state. Speaking exclusively to India Today's Piyush Mishra, Shah credited the BJP government for bringing peace and development to Assam, saying that over 10,000 youths have surrendered, and militant groups have signed agreements. He highlighted infrastructure development, healthcare, and education initiatives under Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's leadership. Addressing infiltration concerns, he said it has been stopped in Assam and will be halted in Bengal too. On concerns about a potential lockdown amid global disruptions, Shah assured that there will be no lockdown in India, stating the situation is normal with adequate supplies of petrol, diesel, and LPG under the Narendra Modi government.
