At least 15 Indian tourists were killed after a speedboat capsized near Vietnam's Phu Quac Island, of whom 10 victims were from Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay expressed condolences to the victims of the Vietnam boat tragedy and instructed officials to coordinate with the Centre to provide all assistance to people from the state who were affected by the incident.
“I am deeply saddened and distressed to learn of the boat accident that occurred this morning near Hon May Rut Ngoai Island in the An Thoi sea area of Vietnam, in which Indian tourists, including those from Tamil Nadu and other states, lost their lives while on a sightseeing trip," read a statement from Vijay’s office.
Vijay said he had directed officials to obtain details of the victims from Tamil Nadu and coordinate with the Ministry of External Affairs and senior officials of the Indian Embassy in Vietnam to carry out rescue and relief operations and ensure that all necessary assistance is provided to those affected.
