Visa fraud cases worth ₹1 crore registered against immigration firms

Chandigarh: UT police have booked owners and employees of several immigration firms in the city for allegedly duping job aspirants of around ₹1 crore in visa fraud cases. Seven separate FIRs have been registered at Sector 17 police station, and investigations are underway.In one case, Mora Singh, a resident of Tarn Taran, alleged that Anubhav Garg of World Walk Immigration Company in Sector 17 took Rs 14.85 lakh from him on the promise of sending him abroad for work, but neither arranged the visa nor returned the money.Another complainant, Kawaljeet Singh from Gurdaspur, told police that Iqbal Singh Sandhu, owner of The Visa Capital in Sector 17, allegedly duped him of Rs 12.47 lakh on the pretext of securing a visa.Kapil Kumar, a resident of Panipat, alleged that Shantanu Sharma of Sky High Abroad Consultant Immigration Company took around Rs 5 lakh from him for a work visa but failed to deliver and refused to refund the amount.Police have also registered three FIRs against Nexus Glide Immigration Company in Sector 17 for allegedly duping multiple victims of around Rs 50 lakh. Satbir Singh from Karnal alleged that Mandeep Singh and others from the firm cheated him of Rs 14.92 lakh on the promise of arranging a visa.

Similarly, Akashdeep Singh of Sangrur alleged that Rs 16.91 lakh was taken from him, while Aditya, a resident of Ambala, claimed he was cheated of Rs 15.85 lakh, all on the pretext of providing work visas.Police said further probe is under way to verify the allegations and identify other victims in the case.
