New Delhi: In some reports, it has come to light that Vivo is quietly preparing a pocket gimbal camera and is reported to unveil it in late 2026. It is expected to feature a 200MP Sony LYT-901 sensor and a 1/1.1-inch sensor. This might position Vivo and Oppo as direct rivals to the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 series and the Insta360 Luna Ultra.

Previously leaked in February 2026, Vivo’s current prototype features a large 1/1.1-inch Sony LYT-901 sensor. This might be a significant departure from the current gimbal camera standard of a 1-inch sensor with lower MP counts.

By utilizing the LYT-901, the same flagship sensor found in some of Vivo’s high-end phones. The Vivo Pocket might offer superior lossless zoom capabilities and high-resolution still photos that exceed the current 37MP output of the Osmo Pocket 4. Vivo is focusing on a release at the end of 2026, while the leaked info suggests that the device is going to be handed to content creators for a test run as soon as next week.

It is powered by a powerful image processor; the Vivo Pocket is aiming for DJI-level hardware quality, indicating a premium build rather than a budget-friendly design.

Vivo isn’t the only device manufacturer eyeing the gimbal camera market. Some reports have also surfaced regarding the alleged Oppo Fuyao, with a gimbal camera expected to be unveiled.
