is the first MR product developed by a smartphone manufacturer in China, positioning the company as the first Chinese player to operate within both the smartphone and MR product sectors. At the event, Vivo also announced an upgrade to its imaging technology strategy and imaging culture ecosystem. According to the company, Vivo Vision Discovery Edition has been four years in the making. Vivo says that the product combines its innovations with its “user-centric values”, making the product ideal for daily use.

Weighing 398g, Vivo says that its MR headset is 26% smaller than the industry average. It runs on OriginOS Vision, which is said to enable natural and intuitive interactions. The information appears in the surrounding space, allowing users to shift from traditional “tap-through-screen” interactions to “move-and-pinch” gestures. Under the hood, the Vivo Vision Discovery Edition is equipped with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 21 platform. Compared to the previous generation, it delivers up to 2.5x GPU performance and 8x AI performance, the company says.

Vivo says that the headset can serve as an entryway for users into the digital world, offering immersive entertainment, gaming and productivity scenarios by enabling panoramic viewing from any angle like watching live sports and e-sports broadcasts from different angles or in split-screen mode without missing any of the action. For media entertainment, it can generate a 120-foot theater screen, allowing users to enjoy cinematic experiences.Vivo also announced an upgrade to its imaging strategy, focusing on scene integration and building a complete imaging ecosystem matrix. This upgrade aims to strengthen vivo’s capabilities in night photography, portraits, telephoto and video. For this, Vivo and ZEISS have entered a new partnership, further collaborating with the German brand.
