MLA for Chamaraja Harish Gowda said the partymen were examining the voters’ list to check for loopholes in view of the allegations of vote theft in the constituency during 2024 the Lok Sabha elections.

Speaking to reporters in Mysuru on Monday, Mr. Gowda said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has placed the issue of vote theft with evidence before the people of the country, and a complaint in this regard will also be given to the Election Commission.

The Election Commission, without responding to the charges, has asked the Congress leader to give proof for the complaint even though he has complained about the alleged vote theft with evidence. He urged the Election Commission to act on the complaint given by the Congress leader.

He said there have been allegations of vote theft even in Chamaraja Assembly segment during the last Lok Sabha polls. “We are examining the voters’ list for loopholes and mistakes,” he said.

To a question, he said he was not in a position to comment on the extent of vote theft in Chamaraja Assembly segment. “We are yet to fully examine the matter. I will speak on the matter after obtaining all the information,” he said.
