Stebin Ben and Nupur Sanon's wedding was a deeply personal celebration, blending Malayalam Christian and Hindu traditions. Manish Malhotra designed their outfits with sensitivity, reflecting love stitched into fabric. Intricate embroidery on Nupur's veil, featuring Punjabi and Malayalam verses, added profound sentiment. Jewellery and accessories were chosen for meaning over excess, creating a soulful and authentic union.
Intimate and deeply reflective of who they are as individuals, Stebin Ben and Nupur Sanon’s wedding was less about spectacle and more about sentiment. From blending cultures to weaving personal poetry into their rituals, every element of their shaadi told a story of love crafted with intention. The celebrations beautifully blended their worlds - Stebin’s Malayalam Christian upbringing and Nupur’s Hindu traditions - creating a wedding that felt intimate, soulful and authentic. The couple opened up exclusively to Wedding Times about their intimate ceremonies, heartfelt rituals and thoughtfully curated wedding looks. WEDDING ATTIRE: TIMELESS, THOUGHTFUL AND PERSONAL For Nupur, her bridal look was about quiet emotion rather than grandeur.
“For the pheras, I wanted everything to feel timeless and intimate. Manish Malhotra understood that instinctively. The lehenga felt like a quiet celebration of tradition and love—nothing loud, just deeply personal,” she says. Stebin echoes the sentiment, highlighting the sensitivity with which their outfits were designed. “Even though I come from a Malayalam Christian background, the Hindu and Christian wedding felt incredibly grounding and respectful of both our worlds.
Manish Malhotra designed our outfits with so much sensitivity—it wasn’t just about how we looked, but about what the moment stood for. It felt like love stitched into fabric,” he shares.
THE PHERAS: WORDS, EMOTIONS AND A MOMENT FROZEN IN TIME The pheras, for Nupur, were nothing short of magical. “The pheras were surreal. There was this overwhelming sense of gratitude,” she recalls. What made it even more meaningful were the words embroidered on her veil—‘Tu mere kal da sukoon te ajj da shukr’ and ‘നീ കൂടെയുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ യാത്ര തന്നെ കവിത’.
“In that moment, everything felt still,” she adds. For Stebin, those details struck a deeply emotional chord. “Seeing the Punjabi and Malayalam verses embroidered on Nupur’s veil felt deeply symbolic and so beautifully done by Manish sir—a beautiful expression of love and respect in every detail,” he says. Quoting the Malayalam line, he adds, “‘നീ കൂടെയുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ യാത്ര തന്നെ കവിത’—with her beside me, this journey already feels like poetry.” JEWELLERY AND ACCESSORIES: MEANING OVER EXCESS Nupur chose her jewellery with intention. “I kept my jewellery elegant and meaningful. I didn’t want anything overpowering, just pieces that felt like they belonged to the moment. For me, it was about comfort, grace, and emotion over excess. Everything I wore felt like an extension of how peaceful I felt inside,” she explains. Stebin’s choices reflected his philosophy of simplicity.
“I’m someone who believes in simplicity. My watch and accessories were chosen because they felt timeless, things I’d look back at years later and still connect with,” he says. LOVE IN THE DETAILS: BLENDING TWO CULTURES One of the most striking aspects of the wedding was how seamlessly it honoured both their backgrounds. “Our wedding was about love and respect in every detail. There was so much space for who we are individually.
It felt beautiful to honour her faith while quietly carrying my roots within me,” Stebin shares. Nupur agrees, adding, “That’s what made it special, nothing felt forced. Every detail, every choice came from understanding, and that’s what love looks like to me.
” BEYOND THE BIG DAY: CELEBRATIONS IN STYLE Each wedding function reflected a different mood and emotion. “For the cocktail night, Gaurav Gupta felt like a bold and celebratory choice.
For the mehndi, my Irth lehenga felt playful, earthy, and intimate, exactly right for that vibe,” says Nupur. Stebin enjoyed experimenting with his looks as well. “I loved wearing Shantanu & Nikhil for the cocktail night, it felt sharp and modern, while Abhinav Mishra for the mehndi was fun and festive. Each look reflected a different emotion of the journey,” he shares.
