Shakeel Ahmad Butt slammed Pakistan Hockey Federation after players faced poor accommodation and dishwashing in Australia.

Shakeel Ahmad Butt did not hold back.
The Pakistan hockey captain tore into the Pakistan Hockey Federation after returning from what he described as a chaotic and humiliating tour of Australia, where players allegedly roamed the streets without accommodation and even washed dishes before matches.
“We can’t work with this current management of the federation. When players have to clean the kitchen and wash dishes before going to play a match, what result do you expect from us?" Butt said at Lahore Airport.
Money Released, But No Rooms
The controversy deepened after the Pakistan Sports Board confirmed it had released more than 10 million rupees to the PHF for hotel arrangements during the Australia leg of the FIH Pro League.
Yet the team reportedly waited 13–14 hours at Sydney airport before flying to Canberra. On arrival, players were informed that no hotel bookings existed due to non-payment.
They waited for hours before alternative arrangements were made. The next afternoon, Pakistan faced Australia, losing 3-2, and went on to lose all matches on the tour, including games against Germany.
“What was pathetic was that even the Airbnb accommodation was arranged for 10 days when we had to stay for 13 days. We had to move into a cheaper residence after 10 days," Butt added.
Inquiry Ordered
PSB Director-General Noor us Sabah confirmed a detailed report is being prepared for Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who has ordered an inquiry. Sharif is patron-in-chief of the PHF.
Butt also claimed players were warned against speaking publicly.
“I am speaking up because of what we have been through in Australia," he said, calling for a foreign coach and better management.
