Weather News, Rains Today Live Updates: The Southwest Monsoon advanced, covering additional parts of Gujarat and Rajasthan, the remaining areas of Uttar Pradesh, the entire Delhi region, and most parts of Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), conditions remain favourable for the monsoon to advance further in the coming days.

The IMD also said strong westerly winds are likely to persist over southern peninsular and central India until July 8.

An orange alert has been issued for some parts of Maharashtra, with moderate to heavy rainfall expected.

Weather Today Live Updates: Maharashtra Issues Advisory As Heavy Rain Threat Looms Over Mumbai, Konkan

The Maharashtra Disaster Management Department has urged residents to remain alert as heavy rainfall is expected across Mumbai, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), Konkan and parts of central Maharashtra from July 4 to 6. The forecast covers Mumbai, Raigad, Thane, Palghar, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg, while the ghat regions of Satara, Pune and Nashik are also likely to receive moderate to heavy rain.

The department has cautioned that heavy showers may disrupt local travel and could result in damage to vulnerable structures. Citizens have been advised to exercise extra caution while commuting through low-lying areas and ghat roads and to contact local emergency services if required.

The IMD has forecast heavy rainfall across Mumbai, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), and the Konkan region from July 4 to 6. Mumbai, Raigad, Thane, Palghar, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg are expected to receive heavy showers. At the same time, the ghat areas of Satara, Pune and Nashik districts are likely to witness moderate to heavy rainfall during the period.

Authorities have warned that the rain could disrupt local transport and cause damage to vulnerable structures. Residents have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel, particularly through low-lying areas and ghat roads, and to contact local disaster management authorities in case of emergencies.
