West Asia crisis puts curbs on booking of 2nd LPG cylinder

In Patna, the wait for a second LPG cylinder has stretched to 15-25 days as ongoing conflicts in West Asia disrupt gas supply chains. Local distributors report delays not seen since the pandemic-induced shortages, underscoring the challenges posed by international tensions on fuel import logistics.

Patna: Consumers planning to book a second LPG cylinder will have to wait 15-25 days following a delivery owing to the ongoing conflict in West Asia conflict, according to distributors in Patna.Ram Naresh Sinha, a local distributor, said, “For the first time in 40 years of service, such a situation has arisen due to a war. However, there is no need for the public to panic.” He added that bookings will not be successful because receipts cannot be generated before the mandated gap.Another distributor said, “Such a thing had happened before during Covid pandemic when there was a shortage of LPG cylinders. But as Gulf countries are involved in the conflict, this is impacting the flow of gas and hence the backlog.”This measure aims to manage the supply chain as international tensions affect the import and distribution of fuel across the region, the distributor added.
