An evening of Western classical music marked International Women’s Day celebrations at Victoria Memorial Hall, where Nuit d’Étoiles — Classical Echoes, Where Legacy Finds Its Voice brought together musicians and audiences for a musical tribute to women.
The concert, held at the Eastern Quadrangle, was presented by the Consulate General of France in Kolkata in collaboration with Alliance Française du Bengale and the Basu Foundation for the Arts. The evening featured soprano and composer Cheryl Bains, accompanied by pianist Nadine Jo Crasto, violinists Eshvita Menezes and Martina Charles, cellist Fiona Rouse and violist Dielle Braganza. Together, the ensemble presented a repertoire of Western classical pieces, creating an evocative atmosphere under the open sky as the audience gathered to celebrate music, legacy and the spirit of Women’s Day.
