The Opening Ceremony: Green Day
In a massive hometown flex, East Bay legends Green Day are officially kicking things off.
This isn't just a pre-game set, it’s a dedicated 60th Anniversary Opening Ceremony. The band will perform a high-octane medley of their hits to serve as the live soundtrack as generations of Super Bowl MVPs are introduced onto the field.
The Pre-Game Anthems
The NFL has selected three distinct voices to handle the traditional pre-kickoff ceremonies:
- The National Anthem: Charlie Puth. The pop-hitmaker actually pitched himself for the role, sending a demo to Jay-Z's Roc Nation months ago. He’s taking a "less is more" approach to the Star-Spangled Banner to ensure he doesn't "over-sing" the moment.
