Astronomer CEO Andy Byron faced backlash after a kiss cam incident with Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot at a Coldplay concert.

Astronomer CEO Andy Byron has gained unwanted attention from the netizens after a lighthearted moment turned into a full blown disaster for him at the Coldplay concert in Boston on Wednesday night

During Coldplay’s concert at Gillette Stadium in Boston on Wednesday, frontman Chris Martin decided to spice up the crowd with the classic kiss cam game. As the camera panned across the thousands of fans in attendance, it suddenly landed on Byron, the married CEO of Astronomer, and his Chief People Officer, Kristin Cabot.

The pair, seen with their arms around each other, quickly reacted as frontman Chris Martin commented, “Oh, look at these two."  As the camera lingered, Byron abruptly pulled away and ducked behind a barrier while Cabot covered her face with her hands, visibly embarrassed.

The clip became a huge internet topic because Byron is married with two children, while Cabot leads the company’s human resources team. Their shocked reactions made people suspicious about their relationship.

Who Is Andy Byron?

According to his LinkedIn, Andy Byron is serving as the CEO of Astronomer since July 2023.

Astronomer, a data-software company valued at over $1.3 billion, specialises in data orchestration tools for companies and is widely respected in the tech world with clients ranging from banks to media companies.

The company has rapidly gained traction under Byron’s leadership. In just over a year, the company saw 100% YoY growth in annual recurring revenue, net dollar retention above 130%, and over 2.6 billion successful task runs on the Astro platform in FY2025.

A graduate of Providence College, Byron resides in New York with his wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, and their two children. Described by colleagues as driven and strategically sharp, he was brought into Astronomer to steer the next phase of growth for the open-source-centric company.

He previously served as President of Lacework from 2019 until 2022, and then briefly served as an advisor to the company, according to his LinkedIn profile.

From 2017 to 2019, he served as Cybereason’s Chief Revenue Officer. He has also held positions at Vericenter and BMC Software.

Astronomer’s current executive team consists of Pete DeJoy (co-founder and chief product officer), Julian LaNeve (chief technology officer), Bhanu Sareddy (chief customer officer), and Kristin Cabot (chief people officer), as reported by Financial Express.

Who Is Megan Kerrigan Byron?

The controversy has also shed light on Megan Kerrigan Byron, an accomplished educator and mother of two.

As per Financial Express, Megan works at Bancroft School in Worcester, Massachusetts. She currently serves as Associate Director of the Lower School and Admissions for the Hope Graham Program, which supports students with language-based learning differences.

After the kiss cam controversy, many netizens have flooded her posts with messages of support, particularly those featuring her children and family.
