Nida Khan, a Human Resources manager linked to a Nashik BPO unit associated with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has been arrested in connection with an ongoing investigation into alleged workplace misconduct and harassment.

Khan, in her early 30s, was taken into custody on April 10 after initially being reported as absconding. She is now a key figure in a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe led by the Nashik City Police. As an HR manager, she was responsible for addressing employee grievances and ensuring compliance with Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) regulations—making the accusations against her particularly serious.

Harassment Complaints Ignored?

According to investigators, Khan is suspected of failing to act on multiple complaints submitted by women employees over an extended period. Several complainants, who have filed FIRs at Mumbai Naka and Deolali Camp police stations, allege that their concerns were either ignored or suppressed. Some have also claimed they faced pressure to remain silent.

Authorities were examining whether Khan played a more active role in enabling the alleged misconduct by not escalating complaints to higher authorities. Police were also looking into why reports dating back to 2022 were not addressed.

Investigators Examine Possible Systemic Failures

During the investigation, teams conducted searches in Pune, where Khan has personal ties, while also tracking her movements between Pune and Nashik. Her online profile had drawn attention earlier, with references to her academic background and professional affiliations circulating widely.

Khan has been booked under multiple charges, including criminal intimidation and outraging modesty. Additional allegations linked to coercion were also being reviewed. Meanwhile, officials were probing whether the case reflects a broader pattern of systemic failure within the workplace.

The SIT continues to question Khan as part of efforts to uncover the full extent of the alleged wrongdoing, with further developments expected in the coming days.
