Educated at one of the most prestigious institutions in the country, with a top rank to his name, Shreesh Jadhav chose a path less travelled - one rooted in service and purpose over prestige.

Shreesh Jadhav secured India Rank 2 in the fiercely competitive IIT-JEE exam in 1985. According to the IIT Kanpur Office of Resources and Alumni, he joined IIT Kanpur that year and shone brightly, earning A's in nearly every subject except Sociology. His consistent excellence marked him as one of the top minds of his batch, with a sharp intellect.He later aced the GATE exam in Computer Science with a stunning 99.92 percentile in 1989.

He chose service over spotlight

Despite doors swinging wide open to elite jobs and international gigs, Jadhav chose a different route. Post-PhD, he devoted himself to education for the underserved. Reflecting wisely, he once shared, “I did not make much of renunciation. It is actually you who did it. I left lesser things for something better, and you left better things for the mundane. Now tell me, who actually renounced?”, according to the IIT Kanpur Office of Resources and Alumni.

From an excellent career and educational trajectory to being a monk

He chose to become a monk, and following his monastic path deepened his commitment to societal good as Swami Sarvottamananda.Jadhav served as a resident honorary teacher at Ramakrishna Mission school in Narottamnagar, Arunachal Pradesh. He later worked as an honorary lecturer at Ramakrishna Mission Shilpamandira from 1996-1997, per IITK records. From 1997-2006, he lectured and coordinated in computer science, eventually rising to Dean of Research and Computer Science coordinator at Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University.His monastic path as Swami Sarvottamananda amplified his commitment to societal good.

He has a lasting academic impact

Jadhav's brainpower never dimmed. His research spanned computational geometry, graph algorithms, and discrete math, with his B.Tech project published by a top computer science group. According to IITK, his papers graced global journals and conferences.

He has numerous accolades to his name

In 2009, IIT Kanpur honoured him with the Distinguished Alumnus Award for societal contributions. Ranked among the institute's most influential alumni, Jadhav's life makes us ponder, if success is measured in bank balances or lives touched.
