Alappuzha: P Usha Devi, wife of late K K Mahesan, former secretary of SNDP Yogam Kanichukulangara Union and state coordinator of its microfinance project, submitted a complaint to home minister Ramesh Chennithala on Sunday seeking a fresh probe by a special investigation team into her husband’s death.She handed over the complaint to the minister at his residence in Haripad. Earlier, Congress senior functionary V M Sudheeran raised the same demand in a complaint to chief minister V D Satheesan, following which Mahesan’s family also submitted a representation.Speaking to reporters after meeting the minister, Devi said Chennithala heard the details of the case and assured her that he would examine the present status and take appropriate action.She also alleged that BDJS national president Thushar Vellappally had been repeatedly making derogatory remarks against her to force her to withdraw the case. According to her, the criticism began after she opposed his visit to their house following Mahesan’s death. She said she would continue pursuing the case until she gets justice and alleged that her family wassubjected to sustained personal attacks.Mahesan, a close aide of SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan, was found dead in June 2020.
