TIRUPATI: A 45-year-old man was bludgeoned to death by his wife's lover in front of his five-year-old son on Monday night at Pakshirajapuram forest in Chowdepalli mandal of Annamayya district.
Police identified the deceased as Gandhi (45) of Gudiyatham in Tamil Nadu and the boy as Sandeep.The murder came to light the next day when the boy, who spent the night beside his father's body, came out of the forest at dawn and alerted locals at Boyakonda Yenadipalyam hamlet.According to the police, Gandhi was married to Rasathi, who recently deserted him and their son Sandeep after entering into an extramarital relationship with Narasimhulu, a resident of Boyakonda Yenadipalyam.
Gandhi and his son had come to Chowdepalli in search of Rasathi where they met Narasimhulu, who promised to help them.However, Narasimhulu and his accomplices took them to the forest at night after consuming liquor and bludgeoned Gandhi with a boulder in front of the boy.The boy hid in the bushes and once they left he came out and spent the night next to his father's body. After sunrise, the five-year-old reached Boyakonda Yenadipalyam and told locals about his father's murder. Police registered a case and took Narasimhulu and his two accomplices into custody. The child was sent to a local care centre.
