Woman found dead at home in Marad

A 31-year-old woman was found dead at her residence in Marad near Beypore in Kozhikode on Saturday (July 26). The deceased has been identified as Shimna.

The police have registered a case of unnatural death under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). Her body was found hanging in the bedroom.

According to police sources, preliminary findings suggest that the woman ended her life, allegedly unable to bear the torture inflicted by her husband. The man was reportedly addicted to alcohol and frequently assaulted her, they said.
