Woman injured after husband pushes her off roof for asking him to quit alcohol

A Rajasthan woman sustained serious injuries after her husband allegedly pushed her from the roof of their house following an argument over his drinking.

The incident took place in Alwar district. The injured woman, identified as Manisha, is undergoing treatment at the Alwar District Hospital after suffering a severe head injury in the fall.

According to the victim, her husband Rakesh is addicted to alcohol and frequently creates disturbances at home after consuming liquor. On Friday night, he allegedly returned home in an intoxicated state, leading to an argument between the couple.

Manisha told authorities that she asked her husband to stop drinking regularly and advised him to give up alcohol, citing the family's condition and the recurring disputes caused by his habit. However, the suggestion reportedly angered Rakesh, resulting in a heated altercation.

As the argument escalated, Rakesh allegedly assaulted his wife and pushed her from the roof of their single-storey house. The sudden fall left Manisha with a serious head injury and excessive bleeding.

Hearing her cries for help, local residents rushed to the spot and arranged for her to be taken to Rajgarh Hospital. After providing initial treatment, doctors referred her to Alwar District Hospital due to the severity of her injuries.

The victim stated that she had been facing difficulties for a long time because of her husband's alcohol addiction and that disputes over the issue were common in the household. The incident has triggered anger among family members and residents of the village.

Police said they have launched an investigation into the matter after receiving information about the incident. The woman's statement has been recorded at the hospital, and further legal action will be taken based on the findings of the probe.

Manisha continues to receive treatment at the district hospital, while authorities are examining the circumstances leading to the alleged assault.
