Woman’s champagne stunt on NH lands driver in trouble

Raipur: A champagne bottle, a moving car and a highway stunt caught on camera have landed a Bilaspur man in legal trouble after the video went viral on social media.Bilaspur police arrested the driver and registered an FIR after the clip surfaced online showing a woman performing dangerous stunts on a moving car on the Bilaspur-Korba National Highway.The incident took place between 11.10 pm and 12.30 am on May 24 within Koni police station limits on the Raipur Road stretch near Mouharpara Nirtu Ratanpur. Action was initiated after a complaint was lodged by a resident of Sendri.Bilaspur superintendent of police Rajnesh Singh said Koni police registered a case under Section 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act. Further legal proceedings are underway.The viral clip shows a young woman first walking in front of a moving car before opening a champagne bottle and later posing while standing on the roof of the vehicle as it continued moving along the highway at night. Police identified the driver as a resident of Sarkanda.According to the complaint, the driver was allegedly driving rashly and negligently while allowing the woman to sit and pose on the roof of the moving car, creating a serious risk not only to her life but also to other commuters travelling on the busy highway stretch. Police said such stunt-based reel-making on public roads has become a growing concern.
