New Delhi: X is now gearing up to introduce its latest standalone messaging application, X Chat for iPhone and iPad users. This application is now available for pre-order and is expected to be available for download on April 17. X Chat will going to bring features such as encrypted messaging, disappearing chats, and support for large group conversations, by marking its shift from X’s existing in-application direct messaging system.

X Chat is not related to the older Internet Relay Chat, which is based on the service that has been shared under a similar name. Rather, it is the latest messaging platform that is built specifically for users on the X platform. This application also marks a shift from X’s existing direct messaging system, which was earlier expected to receive an update within the main application itself.

End-to-End Encryption

The messages are secured with encryption, which means only the sender and receiver can read them. This also helps to keep the conversation private and protected from third parties.

Edit and Delete Messages

The users can modify or remove messages even after sending them. Deleting the message for everyone in the chat offers more control over conversations.

Screenshot Blocking

This application also includes an option to prevent screenshots, by helping users avoid others by saving or sharing sensitive chats without any permission.

Disappearing Messages

Users can also enables the messages to automatically disappear within five minutes. This feature might be useful for sharing temporary or sensitive information that shouldn’t stay in chat history.

Large Group Chats

X Chat will also support group conversations with up to 481 members, which might be suitable for communities, teams, or large discussions.

Cross-device calling

In addition to text messaging, the application will enable users to make calls across devices by extending its use beyond the standard chat functionality.
