 Gangster Bheem with Rs 20,000 bounty shot dead by police; involved in multiple serious crimes

YAMUNANAGAR: Yamunanagar Police gunned down a notorious gangster named Bheem alias Bikeshwar in an encounter on the Ratoli-Khera road in the district in the early morning on Wednesday.

Acting on the orders of Yamunanagar Superintendent of Police (SP) Kamaldeep Goyal, this operation was part of an ongoing anti-gangster drive across the district. Bheem had a reward of Rs 20,000 on his head and was wanted in several serious criminal cases.According to police sources, Bheem was facing seven to eight serious charges, including attempted murder, extortion, drug trafficking, and possession of illegal firearms.

Acting on a tip-off about his presence on Ratoli-Khera Road, the police reached the location to apprehend him. However, upon spotting the police, the gangster opened fire, prompting the police to retaliate.The exchange of intense gunfire, several rounds of bullets were fired from both sides. One of the bullets even struck a police jacket, but no personnel were injured. Bheem was hit during the gunfight and died on the spot.

Originally from Ayodhya, Bheem had recently been residing in Azad Nagar, Yamunanagar. Just a few days ago, he had allegedly opened fire at the residences of a businessman named Bobby and a cloth merchant named Ravi near the ITI area in Yamunanagar, creating an atmosphere of fear in the city.After the encounter, a forensic team was despatched to the scene and collected vital evidence. The police recovered a firearm, live cartridges, and a motorcycle from the spot.Police officials see this operation as a clear message to criminals that Haryana Police is adopting a zero-tolerance approach towards crime. While the police have not made an official statement yet, a press conference is expected later today where more details about the operation may be shared.Yamunanagar superintendent of police (SP) Kamaldeep Goyal said, “Deceased Bheem worked for gang of Yamunanagar city based gangster Noni Rana, who are involved in multiple extortion-bid firing cases.

Recently, Bheem had committed shooting at the businesses of two city based businessmen. The district police team received the tip-off about activity of Bheem and at about 5:15 am, we got engaged with him an encounter as he fired at the police personnel.

In exchange of firing, Bheem was shot dead while one of the policemen received a bullet on his bullet-proof jacket and escaped unhurt.”To a query, SP Goyal said, “Noni Rana is also wanted gangster who has remained associated with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Efforts are being made to apprehend him too.”
