Pune airport celebrated Yatri Sewa Diwas with diverse activities

PUNE: Pune Airport observed Yatri Sewa Diwas on Wednesday through a series of initiatives that embodied hospitality, sustainability, cultural heritage, community service, and passenger welfare.The celebrations commenced with the traditional welcoming of passengers with tika and rose buds, accompanied by a briefing on the significance of the day. This culturally rooted gesture created a warm impression and set the tone for the occasion.An environmental initiative was carried out through a plantation drive within the airport premises. Minister of state for civil aviation Murlidhar Mohol, along with airport staff and passengers, planted saplings, underscoring the airport’s commitment to sustainability and collective participation.

Creative engagement formed another highlight with painting competitions conducted at the terminal for toddlers, fostering awareness through art. Passenger participation was further encouraged through interactive photo booths strategically positioned at Arrivals, Check-in, and SHA.A blood donation drive in collaboration with the Red Cross Society recorded 32 voluntary donors, while a free health check-up camp benefited 142 passengers.

Additionally, specialized eye check-ups were arranged for 89 drivers at the city-side area, reflecting the airport’s inclusive outreach beyond passengers.Educational initiatives also featured prominently. Students were taken on a guided airport visit that included an orientation on aviation careers, designed to inspire the younger generation and broaden their perspectives on opportunities in the aviation sector.Through this blend of cultural expression, environmental stewardship, educational outreach, and community welfare, Pune Airport marked Yatri Sewa Diwas 2025 as a meaningful and memorable celebration, successfully balancing operational efficiency with active passenger and community engagement.
