‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ February 14 written update: Maira misses her mother as she preps for hostel life

‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’s Valentine’s Day episode starts with a flashback, giving fans a glimpse of what all happened in the past 8 years that made Armaan and Abhira go down different paths.

The episode continues as the court grants Armaan sole custody of Maira. After a year, Abhira requests Armaan about how he should not separate her from their daughter. He, however, refuses and says that he cannot fall for her tears ever again and refuses to let her see Maira.

Armaan and Abhira continue to argue about Maira

Abhira continues to plead with Armaan about how she needs to see her daughter, and that she has stayed away ever since the two of them separated. Armaan tells her that Maira does not want to see her face and taunts her for not being there for her daughter when she needed her mother the most.

He clarifies that Maira still cannot accept that Abhira chose Vani over her. He also reminds her to stay away as the court had ordered that Abhira cannot meet Maira anymore.

Meanwhile, Abhira spots their daughter and goes up to her to hug her. Maira, however, instantly pushes her away and falls on the road. She is about to get hit by a car, but Armaan comes in time and saves her. He accuses Abhira of traumatising their daughter and tells her to stay away.

Abhira asks Maira if she feels the same way; however, the child simply tells Armaan that she wants to go home. Abhira is left shocked as the two of them leave the place.

Vidya tells Abhira to stay away from the family

In a later scene, Abhira confronts Vidya about all that is happening and requests that she let her meet her daughter. Vidya, however, tells her that they have been taking Maira to a psychiatrist, who tells them that she cannot handle trauma anymore. She advises Abhira to stay away from her daughter for her sake and well-being.

Back to the present, Maira and Mukti prepare to leave for school and the hostel

The two girls pack their bags to prep for hostel life; however, in the middle of it all, they realize that they need innerwear. Maira feels shy about talking about this and is unable to tell Armaan about what she needs to buy. Later, Vidya, Manisha, Kajal, and Tanya find out what she needs and decide to take her shopping.Meanwhile, Abhira openly talks about the innerwear and advises Mukti not to be awkward or ashamed, as it is a normal part of her life and of growing up.

She takes her shopping as well, in the same outlet where Maira and the Poddar family are.During their shopping troubles, Maira gets overwhelmed when everyone asks her to try on different clothes. She runs away into a corner and overhears Mukti and Abhira’s conversation. Mukti thanks Abhira for always being there for her and for supporting her. Maira overhears all of this and wonders about why her mother is not with her. She starts crying as Vidya and all of the other members of the family try to find her.
