A 23-year-old youngster was arrested by the Ranga Reddy Excise Enforcement team for allegedly transporting 2.9 kg of ganja from Odisha and attempting to supply it to buyers near Moula Ali Railway Station.
The accused was identified as Suraj Majai. Acting on specific intelligence about the transportation of ganja from Odisha, the enforcement team conducted inspections in the railway station area.
During the operation, the team apprehended Suraj while he was allegedly waiting to hand over the contraband to prospective buyers. Officials seized 2.9 kg of ganja and ₹10,300 in cash from his possession.
According to Circle Inspector Subhash Chander, the accused along with the seized contraband and cash were handed over to the Malkajgiri Excise Station for further action.
