New Delhi: YouTube livestreams will now hold back ads during peak engagement to protect the vibe. YouTube has also announced a new change aiming to improve the livestream viewing experience. The platform will reduce or delay ads during the high engagement and offer users a short ad-free viewing period.

Along with this, YouTube has unveiled the latest features for creators and extended monetization tools as it continues to refine its live streaming experience.

Ads will now be automatically held back when the livestream chat becomes highly active. This system will detects when the engagement is at its peak and temporarily avoids showing ads to all viewers. YouTube stated that this is to protect that collective vibe and ensure viewers stay immersed in the moment.

The only way to avoid ads during the livestreams was by subscribing to YouTube Premium. With this upgrade, even non-paying users might experience fewer interruptions during the key moments in the stream.

The company is also adding benefits for the users who support the creators during their livestreams. When the viewer sends Super Chat, Super Sticker, or gifts, they will get an instant ad-free viewing window for a short period after their purchase. These features are especially designed to highlight fan interaction.

Super Chat enables users to pay to pin their messages in chat, whereas Super Stickers are paid images that will help highlight messages. And by offering an ad-free window, YouTube is trying to make these interactions more rewarding.
