Andhra Pradesh government released the long-pending bills of ₹10 crore under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) to Prakasam district, and soon these funds will be deposited in the accounts of those who have done the works, said Social Welfare Minister Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy in a statement on Tuesday.

He informed that the MGNREGA bills, which were stalled during the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) regime, have been released following efforts from the coalition government. He alleged that the previous government had caused problems by not providing the funds due their revenge politics.

The Minister said that all the pending bills under the MGNREGA would be released for the district as promised by the coalition government. Within one-and-a-half years of its rule, development works worth ₹170 crore were carried out under MGNREGA, and ₹140-crore worth Panchayati Raj roads, CC roads and BT roads have been constructed in the district.

He also expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan for helping to release the funds with the support from the Central government.
