6 Ganjam police stations in top-10 of Odisha's best performers in 2025

Berhampur: Six police stations in Ganjam district have been placed among top-10 better performing police stations in the state in 2025 as per real-time assessment under the Pragati dashboard.Ganjam police station was ranked first in the state followed by Polasara, Purushottampur, Kodala and Rambha in the top-5, while Dharakote was 10th. Assessment was carried out of 643 police stations across the state. Similarly, Sujit Kumar Nayak, sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) of Purushottampur, was ranked first among 118 SDPOs in the state.Pragati dashboard, which has been integrated with the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS), measures the performance of police stations under 10 parameters, including pendency, data bank service, citizen service, complaints closed, road accidents, uploading of various documents on CCTNS like FIRs, photographs and submission of final forms, among others.

The main objective behind integrating Pragati dashboard with CCTNS is to create a competitive spirit among police stations to improve their performance.“Five top police stations in the state are in Ganjam police district, while Dharakote police station was ranked 10th. It was possible due to the good work of officers,” said Subhendu Patra, SP (Ganjam).The performance of SDPOs was assessed under joint inquiry, complaints closed, investigation and instructions given, among other parameters.

SDPO Nayak said his achievement was due to the teamwork and cooperation of police personnel in his area.“Pragati dashboard is a system used for real-time monitoring of the performance of police districts. Senior police officers, including the DGP and agencies like the crime branch, keep a close watch on the performance of police stations and officers,” said a senior officer.
