It was a big night for actor Tramell Tillman, who won the award for Best Supporting Actor in Drama Series for ‘Servance.’ With this victory, he became the first Black man to win in this category. As he reached the stage to accept his award, the actor dedicated it to his mother and said, “You remember what you want to remember.
You make time for what you want to make time for. Do the work. Show up. And most importantly, for the love of God, don't embarrass me in public. My first acting coach was tough, y'all. But all great mothers are.""Momma, you were there for me when no one else was, and no one else would show up. Your love and kindness stay with me, and this is for you," he added.
Stephen Colbert gets emotional remembering Amy Cole in his Emmy’s acceptance speech
61-year-old Stephen Colbert was seen visibly emotional when he delivered his acceptance speech at the 77th Emmy Awards.
He used the stage to pay tribute to his late colleague, Amy Cole. "I want to dedicate this to my mom and dad, her mom and dad, and a young woman who should be here tonight, Amy Cole," Colbert said, as he accepted the trophy for Outstanding Talk Series.Amy was Stephen’s assistant for 16 years. According to Deadline, following a brief illness, Amy Cole breathed her last at the age of 53 in March 2024.
In Memoriam featured Malcolm-Jamal Warner
The ‘In Memoriam’ featured Malcolm-Jamal Warner, the Emmy-nominated actor who drowned on July 20.
The segment was opened by Phylicia Rashad, who co-starred with Malcolm-Jamal Warner on ‘The Cosby Show.’“He remains in our hearts," Phylicia Rashad said.The segment featured a musical performance by Vince Gill and Lainey Wilson and showcased the names and images of notable figures who passed away over the past year. Among those included were Ozzy Osbourne, Julian McMahon, Teri Garr, John Amos, Anne Burrell, George Wendt, Richard Chamberlain, Bill Moyers, Michelle Trachtenberg, David Lynch, and Quincy Jones.
Hannah Einbinder's acceptance speech got censored
Hannah Einbinder won her very first Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for ‘Hacks.’ She was nominated several times, but recorded her first big win this year. However, more than her award, it was her speech that garnered the most attention. Her speech had a mix of humour with heartfelt thanks and tributes, and a political statement, which got partially censored during the live broadcast.“I was just really committed to the personal narrative that I had that it was actually cooler to continue to lose," she joked as she started her speech and then added, “But this is cool too! This is also punk rock."As she continued to express herself, she put across a political message, “Go Birds, f— ICE, and free Palestine." And that's when it got bleeped.

Owen Cooper, who took the industry by storm with his performance in ‘Adolescence,’ received an Emmy Award at the age of just 15 years. He bagged the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for ‘Adolescence.’“Standing up here is just, wow, it’s just so surreal. When I started these drama classes a couple of years back, I didn’t expect to even be in the United States, never mind here,” he said in his acceptance speech.
