Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand directed the A.P. Central Power Distribution Company Limited (APCPDCL) and district officials to ensure time-bound completion of all ongoing power projects, with special focus on rooftop solar, feeder-level solarisation, Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), smart metering and EV charging infrastructure.

He also stressed the need for faster finalisation of lands required by solar projects, prompt execution of power purchase agreements and improvement in system reliability and consumer service standards.

In a review meeting with District Collectors A. Thameem Ansariya (Guntur), D.K. Balaji (Krishna) and G. Lakshmisha (NTR district), A.P.-Transco Joint MD G. Surya Sai Praveen Chand and CPDCL CMD P. Pulla Reddy on other senior officials at the Vidyut Soudha here on Saturday, Mr. Vijayanand warned that stringent action would be taken against those responsible for any intentional delay in the execution of the aforementioned projects.

Feeder-level solarisation projects of over 190 MW covering over 76,000 agricultural pumps have been tendered in multiple districts at a competitive tariff of ₹3.09 per unit, he noted and instructed the officials to complete finalisation of lands within the stipulated timeline, execute PPAs without delay and ensure strict adherence to project schedules.

As regards the RDSS, Mr. Vijayanand ordered that the contractors complete all loss-reduction works before March 2026. Officials told him that 100% feeder metering has been completed and that smart metering and infrastructure works were progressing steadily across consumer categories.

The CS also reviewed the PM E-Drive Scheme, under which EV charging infrastructure was planned to be created in more than 90 locations. VC and MD of NREDCAP M. Kamalakar Babu, CPDCL directors T.V.S.N. Murthy and A. Murali Krishna Yadav and others took part in the deliberations.
