Minority Welfare Minister N. Md. Farooq said that the State government was paving the way for industrial development in rural areas as part of its One MSME Park per Assembly constituency initiative. The initiative aligns with the government’s aim of achieving ‘One Family – One Entrepreneur’.
Mr. Farooq said that the primary objective of the scheme was to create employment opportunities for local youth within the vicinity of their own villages and to encourage young entrepreneurs. The scheme is also part of the 38 MSME parks for which Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had laid foundation stones virtually from Vijayawada.
The Minister, along with District Collector Rajakumari Ganiya, laid the foundation stone on Monday for a new MSME park to be constructed at Yalluru village in Gospadu mandal at an estimated cost of ₹16.40 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister assured that under the aegis of the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Limited(APIIC), all necessary infrastructure for the park would be completed expeditiously, and plots would be prepared to facilitate the establishment of industries. With the establishment of the park, an industrial ecosystem would be fostered in Gospadu mandal and its surrounding areas, thereby providing boost to local economic development.
Meanwhile, Ms. Rajakumari Ganiya said the government was committed to developing MSME parks in every constituency and the government’s objective is to enhance employment and income opportunities in rural areas by providing support to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
The APIIC would develop the park on a 9-acre land parcel in Yalluru and the project would entail the provision of comprehensive facilities suitable for industrial establishment including roads, drainage systems, drinking water supply, and electricity infrastructure. She said that 37 industrial plots would be made available in the park.
The Collector said that the MSME parks were in various stages of development across the district in Dhone, Nandikotkur, Banaganapalle, and Allagadda constituencies. In Nandyal district, 42% of the total revenue is generated by the agricultural sector, while another 40% is contributed by the service sector. Industrial sector currently accounts for only 19% of the district’s revenue. The district’s GDP can be boosted only through the development of industries, she said.
In Kurnool, Collector A. Siri, along with Kodumur MLA Boggula Dastagiri, KDCC Bank Chairman Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, and other officials, laid the foundation stone for a Flatted Factory Complex to be constructed at TIDCO layout in B. Thandrapadu at a cost of ₹15 crore.
