'AA22xA6': Find out what director Atlee is doing in Dubai; shares update for the Allu Arjun starrer

After the blockbuster success of the Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Jawan', filmmaker Atlee is working next with 'Pushpa 2' star Allu Arjun for their next mega sci-fi project, 'AA22xA6'. The film is currently in production and the latest post shared by the 38-year-old director suggests that the team is in Dubai.

Atlee drops a desert update

Recently, Atlee shared a video on his Instagram stories. In the video, he is seen with his team driving towards the Liwa deserts. In the captions he wrote, “#AA22X6 #Sunpictures #receetime."

The shoot of the film seems to be going seamlessly. Earlier, Allu Arjun, after the death of her grandmother, Allu Kanakaratnam had to leave the shooting to attend the last rituals and prayer ceremony.According to a Mid-Day report, Allu Arjun returned to Mumbai after attending the last rituals of her grandmother to ensure that the film's schedule stays on track.

As the film includes high-octane action and VFX, multiple experts and international artists have been brought in by the makers and a delay would lead to an increase in the production cost and disruption in the ongoing shoots.

Allu Arjun to play four roles

In the film, Allu Arjun will be seen in multiple roles. He is reportedly playing four characters spanning different generations of the same family, including a grandfather, father, and two sons.

Initially, he was about to play two roles, but Allu Arjun himself insisted on playing four as per Bollywood Hungama. This will be his first time appearing in multiple roles in a single movie.The grand film is a star-studded affair in itself. It will feature Deepika Padukone as the female lead and also includes Mrunal Thakur, Janhvi Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna in key roles.The makers are yet to share the release details, though it is slated to release later in 2026 or early 2027.
