Academicians should play key role to make India self-reliant, says NITI Aayog Member V.K. Saraswat

NITI Aayog Member V.K. Saraswat on Saturday appealed to the research scholars, academic institutions and entrepreneurs to play a key role in building a self-reliant India as the Centre has increased spending on Research and Development to over ₹1.27 lakh crore under the mission Viksit Bharat-2047.

Mr. Saraswat has delivered a keynote address during the inaugural session of the two-day national seminar on ‘Leveraging Research and Innovation for Viksit Bharat@2047’ at Godavari Global University here on Saturday. Mr. Saraswat has stated; “Viksit Bharat-2047 is not just a dream, but it is a shared responsibility of every India”. 

In his address, Vice Chairman of All India Council of Technical Education Abhay Jere has observed that research and innovation are keys to transforming India into a knowledge economy through higher education institutions.
