 Dinesh Vijan takes MHCU to the next level; the 'Stree' and 'Bhediya' universes to grow bigger

Dinesh Vijan's MHCU is expanding with an AI-driven project, alongside upcoming films like 'Bhediya 2,' 'Stree 3,' 'Shakti Shalini,' and 'Chamunda' starring Alia Bhatt. 'Thamma' has already achieved significant box office success, collecting over Rs 55 crore in its first three days.

Producer Dinesh Vijan and director Amar Kaushik’s MHCU continues to evolve beyond imagination. Following the successful release of 'Thamma' (2025), reports suggest that the makers are preparing to introduce an AI-driven project within the MHCU timeline.

According to Mid Day reports, there are exciting titles like ‘Bhediya 2,’ ‘Stree 3,’ ‘Shakti Shalini’ with Aneet Padda, and ‘Chamunda’ with Alia Bhatt. Reportedly, the makers want to integrate an AI film into the slate and have high ambitions with the MHCU. According to the makers, the AI film feels like a natural fit and will widen the scope of what can happen in that universe.

Upcoming titles: S'hakti Shalini' ,'Bhediya 2', and 'Chamunda'

After 'Thamma,' the MHCU is set to continue its supernatural saga with three major titles.

Shakti Shalini, starring 'Saiyaara' fame Aneet Padda, will be the sixth film in the universe and is slated for release on December 24, 2026.

Varun Dhawan on 'Bhediya 2'

The seventh installment, 'Bhediya 2', will see Varun Dhawan return in his fan-favorite role. When a fan asked on X if the film was shelved, Varun teased, “Arre bhai sab sab kuch bol denge toh surprise kaise de apology wait thoda #varunsays,” confirming that 'Bhediya 2' is very much alive.

The eighth title, 'Chamunda', reportedly stars Alia Bhatt.

'Thamma’s box office roar

Meanwhile, 'Thamma' has kick-started its theatrical run with strong box office numbers. According to Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 42.60 crore in India net in its first two days and an estimated Rs 12.50 crore on Day 3, taking its total domestic earnings beyond Rs 55 crore.
