The flight services to Ahmedabad airport from Kerala are temporarily suspended until further notice in the wake of the aircraft accident in which an Air India flight – Flight AI 171 – from Ahmedabad to London, Gatwick, on Thursday (June 12, 2025), was involved in a deadly crash shortly after take-off outside the airport.

As a result, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad, is currently not operational and all flight operations are temporarily suspended until further notice. Passengers are advised to check with their respective airlines for the latest updates before proceeding to the airport. “We request your cooperation and patience as authorities manage this evolving situation,“ said Thiruvananthapuram international airport authorities here on Thursday.
An aircraft, which left for Ahmedabad from the Cochin international airport, is returning, while the service scheduled in the evening will be conducted only based on the instructions from the Ahmedabad airport, said Cochin international airport authorities.
