After days of restrictions on flight operations, the services between India and parts of West Asia are being restored slowly, even as the ongoing conflict continues to affect air travel across the region.

Some airlines, including Air India, Air India Express, and IndiGo, have restarted flights to Dubai after recent approvals from authorities. However, services to some cities are still on hold as airspace restrictions remain in place due to the conflict.

There are 48 Air India flights to and from West Asia scheduled for Thursday, March 19.

This includes 16 regular scheduled flights and 32 additional non-scheduled services. Some of these flights will also connect passengers to Dubai.

“Following the latest update from the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, flight operations to and from Dubai have resumed with effect from 1600 hrs (DXB local time) on 18 March 2026," IndiGo said in a post on X.

Akasa Air has also started restoring its services in a phased manner after reviewing safety conditions. The airline said said flights between Riyadh and Mumbai will resume from today. It added that it continues to operate flights between Jeddah and Indian cities such as Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kochi and Kozhikode.

“Starting today, flights will begin operating to/from Riyadh and Mumbai… We continue to operate flights to/from Jeddah and Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kochi and Kozhikode," the airline said in a post on X.

However, Akasa Air flight operations to and from Abu Dhabi, Doha, and Kuwait remain suspended until March 21.

The ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran has significantly impacted aviation, leading to restricted airspace and disruptions in flight schedules.
