Leaders of the Andhra Pradesh Technical and Professional Institutions Employees Association (APTPIEA) have urged the government to immediately release the pending fee reimbursement amounts to spare students further academic distress.
In a statement on Sunday, the association’s State president Brahmananda Reddy said that even after completing their courses, some colleges were still collecting money from students, citing the government’s failure to release the fee reimbursement funds. Some universities had also warned students that their semester registrations would be cancelled if the dues were not cleared immediately.
Mr. Reddy alleged that the government had remained silent despite repeated appeals from students and parents to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, HRD Minister Nara Lokesh, and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.
He urged the Ministers concerned to intervene and ensure the immediate release of the pending funds to help students focus on their studies without financial pressure.
