NEW DELHI: Malaysia and Korea registered emphatic wins in their respective Pool B encounters to seal Super 4 berths at the Men’s Asia Cup hockey tournament on Monday.Malaysia were ruthless against Chinese Taipei, romping to a 15-0 victory, while Korea outclassed Bangladesh 5-1.

With three wins in as many matches, Malaysia finished on top of Pool B, while Korea secured second place with six points. Bangladesh ended third with three points, and Chinese Taipei exited without a win.In the second match of the day, Malaysia’s scoring spree was led by Ashran Hamsani (8th, 15th, 32nd, 54th minutes) and Akhimullah Anuar (10th, 20th, 29th, 45th, 56th), who contributed four and five goals respectively. Norsyafiq Sumantri added a hat-trick (20th, 40th, 60th), while Abu Kamal Azrai (22nd), Andywalfian Effrynus (24th) and Aiman Rozemi (32nd) chipped in with a goal apiece.Earlier in the day, Korea began strongly against Bangladesh, with Dain Son netting a brace (9th, 11th). Seungwoo Lee (16th), Seyong Oh (22nd) and Jihun Yang (60th) completed the tally for Korea. Bangladesh’s only response came through Sohanur Sobuj in the 22nd minute.
