A rally was organised by the District Police in Cuddalore on Wednesday, as part of national road safety awareness month.
The rally was flagged by Superintendent of Police S. Jeyakumar who emphasised on the importance of safe driving habits and adherence to traffic rules. He also spoke to a few motorists, who did not wear helmets, about the dangers of head injuries. Over 100 schoolchildren carried placards with messages such as ‘Wear helmet’, and raised slogans on road safety.
The police also distributed awareness pamphlets and gave away helmets to riders found travelling without protective headgear. The rally passed through key stretches in Cuddalore before culminating at the Town Hall.
