The survivor in the first rape case registered against Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkoottathil has filed objections before the Kerala High Court opposing his bail plea.
He is now in judicial custody in the third rape case filed against him. The survivor in the first rape case submitted photos as evidence of the injuries he allegedly inflicted on her. She also alleged that he forcibly took her nude photos and threatened to leak them.
Referring to the other rape cases registered against the MLA, she alleged that he was a ‘serial offender’ and there was every chance of him tampering with evidence, intimidating witnesses, and interfering in the probe if granted bail.
She also cited the need for his custodial interrogation to uncover the pattern and modus operandi that he followed in multiple offences of the same nature, with more than 10 survivors, including an alleged minor, she says in the objections she filed to granting bail to the MLA.
The High Court had granted him interim protection from arrest in the case. The matter was posted to next Wednesday for hearing.
