Basava International Museum work progressing: Minister

Revenue Minister Krisha Byre Gowda told the Legislative Council on Wednesday that the civil works of blocks A, B, C, and F of Basava International Centre had been completed, and the work on the Basava International Museum would be taken up at a cost of ₹10 crore.

Replying to the question of Hanumanth Nirani on the progress of Basava International Centre, Mr. Krishna Byre Gowda said that process of giving administrative approval for D and E block was under way.

“With the completion of all civil works, work on sound and light programme with 3D imaging, multimedia technology, and animatrics will be taken up,” he said.

So far, ₹64.43 crore had been released for the work from Krishna Jal Bhagya Nigam Ltd., and till date, ₹54.82 crore had been utilised for the works. An amount of ₹9.61 crore is ending with the Koodalasangam Development Board, which would be used for the international museum,” he said.

The Minister said works were being undertaken as per the blueprint prepared by the expert committee in consultation with Siddeshwar Swami. He admitted that there had been a delay in executing the works, it would be expedited.
