Burrow practiced for two days leading up to Sunday’s loss to the New England Patriots, but the team opted to start veteran Joe Flacco instead, which gave Burrow a bit more recovery time ahead of the short week.
Cincinnati HC Zac Taylor said Burrow will play and start the rest of the regular season and was quite blunt about why he made the decision.“Because we want to win,” Taylor said.As per reports, the last time a Burrow-led team was shut out was in 2018 at LSU versus Alabama. Burrow created quite a stir with his recent comments. On Wednesday, the Bengals quarterback said he wanted to have fun while playing.Burrow said that must be a priority for him moving forward.
"If I want to keep doing this, I have to have fun doing it," said Burrow. "I've been through a lot and if it's not fun, then what am I doing it for? So that's the mindset I'm trying to bring to the table." On a frigid Sunday in Cincinnati, the Bengals’ star quarterback finished 25-of-39 for 225 yards. He failed to throw a touchdown and was picked off twice."I think this is one of the worst games that I've played," Burrow said. "I'm honest with myself and my play, and I hold myself to a high standard, and today didn't come close."
